Wheelhouse Creative Education Center is an innovative multifaceted educational organization that has been serving children and families in Greene County, NY since 2015. Our approach is hands-on, child-centered, holistic, creative, and free-thinking.

Our Community School offers a preschool and toddler program, while our Family Center offers an array of programming including drop-in workshops and childcare sessions, homeschool and after school programs, camps, and caregiver/child programs.

All of our work is deeply rooted in the values of nurturing relationships and collective care. We believe that caring relationships hold the world together, and our learning environment is unique in its prioritization of mutual respect, egalitarianism, authentic inclusivity, and social justice. We seek to build a “public home place” in which each individual feels treasured, supported, and essential.

Through experiences in the forest, in the garden, in the community, and in the classroom, children in our programs deepen their knowledge of themselves, and of the natural and human world of which they are a precious part.
