Community School
COMMUNITY SCHOOL EXISTS TO CREATE THE WORLD WE WANT, RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW.
Our Community School offers preschool and high quality childcare for children ages 18 months - 5 years.
We are more than just a school. We are on a mission to provide play-based education that builds the conditions humans need to thrive.
We want your child’s education to be filled with joy and curiosity. Whether in our mixed-age classrooms or in the natural world where you’ll often find us, learning is sparked by the real world. Learning at Community School unfolds organically, holistically, and in community, laying the crucial social-emotional foundations for effective communication.
A flexible sliding scale ensures our community is accessible and inclusive to all. Each family and child that joins our community is precious to us, and we strive to provide an environment in which each of you is seen, celebrated, and able to grow.
Our anti-oppressive pedagogy:
Prioritizes play and self-directed learning
Is free-thinking, responsive, creative, and non-dogmatic
Integrates academics into project-based inquiry projects
Engages with real-world issues and community partnerships
Holds space for children as inventors and creators
Is holistic and hands-on

Tuition
2024 & 2025
Tier 1 rates reflect our costs to run the program. Tier 2 & Tier 3 rates assist us in developing a fund to address needed building repairs as they arise, and to help us develop a financial assistance fund for subsequent program years.
In past years, we have been able to offer subsidized tuition below program cost. We are not able to offer additional subsidies during the 2024 - 2025 school year due to the significant costs of our recent building purchase. We hope to be able to offer additional subsidies in the future.
Submit your application today! Spots are offered in the order applications have been received.
Tuition rates shown below reflect the monthly cost of our programs.
We are in the process of applying to be allowed to receive the DSS child care subsidies through the Office of Children and Family Services.
If that was the case, we would be able to significantly reduce the tuition for families who qualify for this program.
There is no guarantee on the timeline as of this time, but we want families to know that are working on this option.
We are also offering a work trade program for the upcoming school year to help cover the costs, click the link here for more information: Work Trade Program-Fall 2024
